The founder's discounts are 4, 3, 2 and 1 feet. The tape colors sit 4, 3, 2 and 1 feet under the race family. So the tape already carries the ABCs and the working-set home.

Coach notes
  • The founder's worked example: a female hurdler who normally hurdles about 28 feet apart runs the A rep at 24 feet. That is the Red mark.
  • The match is exact on the imperial tapes. On metric tapes the step is 0.30 m, about 0.98 ft, so the colors approximate the same ladder.
  • The tape sets spacing only. The working-set home also lowers the hurdles 3 inches; tape does not carry height.

  • Needs the founder The tape documents label the colors by purpose (max discount, heavy discount, moderate rhythm, race-feel opener) and do not name the A, B, C reps; the founder has not confirmed this mapping.
